Rebalancing Junior Certificate Home Economics

The Junior Certificate Home Economics syllabus is one of five subjects that has undergone a rebalancing process as part of an ongoing review of the junior cycle. Work has been carried out on the syllabusus to reduce overload within subjects and overlap between subjects in the junior cycle curriculum. The purpose of this is to provide the teacher and student with more time for quality learning.
There is a consultation process from now to the end of May 2008. Teachers are invited to read the draft rebalanced syllabus and communicate their views by means of an online questionnaire. To do this and for more information on this area teachers acces the NCCA website (www.ncca.ie)
